Dont rid yourself of the colour concept green
Right, I have made a decision thar it is time for the VR to go to a new home and for me to upgrade to a newer vehicle. I have looked at modified MK4 GTIs, modifield A3Ts, and close to standard Mitsu EVO 6s. 2002 GTI with 70k, big mods, $23k; 2002 A3T, immaculate, stock, 109k, $21k; Mitsu EVO, 1999, 75k, fairly stock, $23k. I know this is a VW forum, but what do you guys reckon? I am currently leaning towards the EVO, but am still unsure....

What are you going to do with your remus trade
I'm soo euro even my missus is shaved...
whilst the golf and A3 are nice vehicles id be a sucka for the evo . . . its a cult car, right back to the evo1 imo . . .
Pitty about evo's being damn ugly
If sukebe has remus, i want it. Infact, I think its mine by default since it would be going from one colour concept green to another

I drove an A3T the other day, and wasn't happy with the vibration from the motor, mabey couse i was expecting V6 smoothness from a 4 pot turbo, but it was a very nice drive with plenty of power, no lag, whatsoever.
Ive never driven a Golf 4 GTI, but i asume that the audi would be near identical. I belive that the audi looks better from the outside, especially a 3 door, the golf looks a little bit tame, but nothing a few mods wont fix. The Evo, well, theres only so much you can do to an evo without just looking like EVERY other evo. But it will out proform the golf and audi.

Thisevening I am sober and have come back to thinking that maybe I should stick with the VR (and therefore keep the Remus, sorry guys ). I dont know if its the right thing to put another $15k into a car when the one I have does the job (just not quickly enough). Took the VR up to Lake Mountain today and it can still put a fat grin on my face (especially when inducing little power slides over icy patches ).
Also, the cars I have test driven just don't have as 'solid' a feeling as the VR and it has reminded how sweet that engine note is! Unfortunately (or perhaps its fortunately) I think I would need to go up to a MKIV R32 or E36 M3 to get what I am looking for, which just isn't financially justifiable. I spent years driving 4-pot turbo screamers but have settled into the ownership of a solid V6 now (previous drive was an RZ Supra which had an awesome 6, but just wasn't practical and tied up too much cash). Maybe I should rebuild the gearbox, put in an LSD, and wack on a turbo!
welcome to the world of VR6 ownership.
Love it one day. Curse it the next!
one thing to be said though. investing in a newer second hand model can sometimes cost u a lot in repairs. Better the devil u know!
Top decision! Im not sure how far 15k will go though? will get you movin if you spend it all on motor . . .
