    Unhappy What should I check for?

    STUPID DAMN NAVMAN! They make it so bloody hard to see when you have to turn etc etc...well tonight I had a bit of an accident whereby I basically ran over a median strip turning off homebush bay drive doing around 70km/h.. I've rooted both right tyres, and my guess is wheels could be buckled too, although they don't show much sign of damage. I'm not the expert though.

    Just asking for anybody who might know, what should I check for in terms of damage? I ran over this median strip pretty fast, felt like my shocks took a beating, my wheels, perhaps components under my car and maybe something with steering? Can anyone tell me what they think I should look for?

    You may have ripped the buggery out of your bushings and pray that is the only damage you have done. A quick way to test is to get some one to try you car forwards and backwards and anchor the breaks - if the wheel moves backwards/forwards then you know they are RS.

    What do you mean by anchor the brakes?

    UPDATE: Ok, so now I know a bit more. I jacked the car up today and found buckles in both my right wheels. There's also this...

    I think there's a bad bit of damage When inspecting my front wheel today, I made sure I noticed everything it did and didn't do. It DOES turn when i turn my steering wheel. It DOES lock when in gear and roll when in neutral, so it's gotta still be connected by the driveshaft and control arm. But when i took the wheel off, the brake disc was completely separate to everything - ie the brake disc could be moved around by me; I could spin it around. We had to re-align the disc holes with the other holes so we could get the spare tyre lug-nuts in.

    Can anyone shed any light yet?

    anyway - if you've got someone who can lift the car up for a better look, i'd suggest doing that. check for any shear/tears on the struts, and do as 99gti said to check the bushings. put the brakes on hard and get someone to push the car forward and back, the only thing that should move is the suspension. 70km/h is VERY fast to hit a median strip... what angle did you hit it at?

    I think you'll find that your wheel bolts hold the front disc in place - so with no wheel on it should rotate.

    I could have jimmied it out of everything yesterday Anyways I'll update later today I'm going to try and tow it with a car trailer home to get the wheels on then i can get to a mechanics
