    What to do...

My VR6 is rubbing on the back wheels and its getting to the point where i cant have any1 in my back seat.
When i bought the car it was fine. a few months of driving amd a few potholes later and ive got half shreaded back tyres, suspension is real loose and my handling is so bad that it feels like im on a boat.

My mechanic said suspension was fine and to go back to stock rims but i dont think thats gonna fix it.

Im going to see how much to get my guards rolled and put new shocks in then go from there....

    Any advice?!!?!??

What suspension, and what size tyres are you running? I have a feeling your tyres don't match the stock rolling diameter. Going back to stock wheels will cure the tyre shredding as the wheels sit wayyyy into the arches, but may rub on against the inner guards.

i got 16'' rims - crap as and i dont like them!!
i spoke to a guy from a tire place and said i had the wrong sized rubber so he put thinner rubber on and it seems to be fine.
Also i just got sum Koni shocks for the rear and gettin them put on next week.
Im still considering gettin the guards rolled tho...
ill get tire sizes wen i get home!
    any1 else had this prob???

thers probly a few who rub, but its just one of those things that i live with. My golf doesn't rub, but my old car did. (TR magna with 17x8.5" rims) I thought it was cool. Just pushing the limit just a bit more than the bloke beside me.

My Lexus is slowly chewing the outside edge of my back tyres, especially after the 17's were fitted , I put it down to rear springs that sag a little to much. My Golf has never, ever rubbed and is lowered with 17x7 wheels.
