What is the best way to get a car checked out?

    Hi,

I've been hunting for a VR6 for some time now, and have found a couple around the country that I am interested in.

What would be the best way to get them checked out before I get one shipped over to Perth? It's not that fun not being able to drive a car before you buy it.

That is one of the cars I'm looking at... the guy seems pretty keen to sell, but it seems somewhat dubious.

I dont like the ads when they say "very fast" or the like, gives you the impression that the car is beat on a bit.

Every VR6 is going to have been flogged, it's a sports car...

I think this guy just copied the text from another ad actually.

PLUS - The advantage over WA is that the cars in NSW are supposedly checked for roadworthiness every 12 months - MINUS - 4000 klm is a long way from home.
Take the advise of one of these guys. Don't trust anyone and ask the owner to get a detailed mechanical report and he pays for it, but offer to refund him if you buy it....It will help him sell it in the long run anyway. Also phone the mechanic and tell him what you want. Then put it on a truck back to Perth just as I recently brought back the Cordoba. email my hotmail ....greenrocco1 if you want more about trucking it.
