I wouldn't buy of that guy if it was the best VR6 in the world & he was offering hookers & coke as a bonus. It sounds to me like he is the timewaster.

Reply back to him that it's his loss. You still have your cash & there are always plenty of other VR6s coming up for sale where the owners are helpful & not tosspots.

I agree with you. However, This wonderful piece of machinery needs to be taken care of and put in the right hands... You obliviously know what you want and have a handle on it.
I'd call him and when you meet him show him his text messages and talk him down in price because of his rudeness, I"m sure he would drop the price as he would be embarrassed. Turn this around and make him pay. That's what I would do. Even if he is an ungrateful, Penis Receiving *******!

Just food for thought that's all. For that condition, being a VR6 for that price you can't go wrong. Just call him, get your mate to check it out and negotiate from there. Make this turn in your favour, would be a waste of a great car if you didn't.

Dealing with a buyer that is 7 hours away can be a pain. A lot of back and forth etc all for the possibility of maybe selling the car.. No excuse for the above obviously.

But... If you like the car I would suggest trying to defuse the situation. Not escalating it. If you have someone local that can check out the car. Just get them to contact the seller direct. They dont need to know it is on your behalf until the time comes to do the transaction. That way he gets a chance to see youre a serious buyer, you get to have the car inspected and everyone ends up happy.. Well either that or the guy is a twat

I wouldn't bother with it personally. I think you could find just as reasonably priced vr6's out there anyway.

don't bother. although it might be mint, the behaviour you have experienced is far from good. Ask yourself would you buy a new car, TV or similar if you were treated this way? I certainly wouldn't.

To be honest he could have thought you were a scammer. Someone who doesn't know or care that there is a cult like status with the car might not comprehend someone driving 7 hours to check one out.

I wouldn't take it to heart. If that is the way he is reacting then you prob wouldn't want his car anyway.

If it was local, i would volunteer to inspect the car and give it a flogging on the test drive.

    What a douche!

This. When you sell a car on Carsales you get bombarded with emails and texts from scammers wanting to buy your car but they're too far away to check it out, etc. Some people are naive and fall for it, some people are enlightened and become over defensive. Honestly I've sent replies like his to people I suspected were scammers..

Yes he was rude but I can tell you why!

From what you said up above it sounded like you were doing a dodgey enquirey...They normally say they will get someone else to come pick up the car...blah blah blah...someone probably did it to him already and didn't want it to happened again.

    Just my 2 cents
