    VR6 Waterpump

I'm starting to get some tell tale signs of water around the belts, and i figure the pump is about to let go.

Where is the waterpump on these?
    Is it hard to replace?
Is it easyer to pull the motor out?

Easy to replace. I just did mine. You have to take out the airbox etc to the throttle body, undo the front and rear engine mounts and jack the motor up in the car until the water pump pulley clears the chassis rail. Then undo the belt and pull the pump out the side.

are the ones with the metal impeller really all that good? wouldnt they chew metal off the block when they reach high temps? i would think that the plastic impeller one would be better if its allowed to break away from the rest of the pump....i dunno
