    cheap metal impellor pump. fitted one to my car and build quality was pretty good.

    Seriously man, what drugs are you on??? Allowing for heat expansion, a water pumps impellers would NEVER touch the water pump housing or the block. Plastic impellers are good in the short term, but like anything that is plastic, heat and time makes them brittle. When you say"I dunno", you are really on the money...
