Hey Guys,
I've been on the forum for a while now with many different cars;
1994 VW Golf (MK3) 1.4LS - Manual (UK Model)
2002 VW Golf (MK4) 2.0 Sport - Auto
2003 VW Golf (MK4) 1.8T GTI - Manual
2005 VW Golf (MK5) 2.0 FSI - Manual
Just last night, I picked up my newest edition and probably my favourite so far (tough choice between the MK4 GTI).
A 1996 VW Golf 2.8 VR6 OBD1 in Black.
I found it whilst I was randomly scrolling through Carsales and instantly called and went straight round.
Car is incredible, it's a semi-fixer-upper, mechanically everything is fine except the usual ABS fault and the fact that the previous owner has mixed (what I assume) to be G11 and G12 coolant, so that'll be getting flushed ASAP.
Other than that, there's a vacuum leak in the central locking which I just need to track down and there's also an odd problem with the electric windows which I'm pretty sure is linked to the central locking.
Other than that, it's a great drive. Drove back home (approx. 30mins) and it was crazy fun!
Been reading through the other build threads and I'm pretty excited to get started.
I've met a few of the guys from the MK4, MK5 and MK6 scene but definitely looking forward to meeting a few of the MK3 guys!.
I'll add photos onto the next post, (only have rough dark photos at the min, so I apologise).

Totally stock and looks mint, nice catch.
Yea completely stock. Technically 1 owner and crazy low KM's. Looking forward to getting stuck and tinkering around!

seen some other posts, what have you done so far?

Purely maintenance so far, getting it ready for the road.
1. Fixed central locking issue.
2. Repaired damaged window regs.
3. Repaired leaking oil sump.
I'll be replacing my suspension mounts and CV boot either this weekend or next.
Then I need to replace my rear ABS sensors and then I think it's pretty much ready.
My mechanic was really surprised at how well it was kept (but did make a mention that the previous service garage was an absolute rip off and questioned whether they all the stuff they claim) which is abit of a worry!
