    Vr6 turbo setup help

    What would be the best turbo setup for a 2.8 vr6???

    Vague question.

    Pretty much every kit available won't fit due to being made for LHD.

    Heaps of info on vortex and vr6oc
    You either want a spa manifold or a custom one made up similar to the eip.

    Management will be your biggest problem. Probably need a standalone ecu and tune due to lack of chips available to our ecu's.

    It's expensive and if you're asking this question probably best do some more research first.

    Thanks man appreciate it, I know someone who can do the tune, but what sort of turbo would be suite for a daily? E.g t3 or t4? Would t26 be ok?

    IMO, GT3076 if you gonna be running a stock block. If you were to stroke it then GT3582. You doing headspacer or replacing pistons?

    Lol. In before 50k budgets needed

    3076 is way to small. You'll be on full boost at 2500rpm.

    You'd ideally want a 3582 with a .82a/r or t04e 60-1 with a 1.06a/r. Both will be 3700-4200rpm spool.

    Spa exhaust manifold will be fine.

    Custom dump pipe -> 3" exhaust from a local zorst shop.

    Decent wastegate or buy an internally gated turbo for ease.

    Depending on the money you have, mega squirt-> haltech/lugtronic/adaptronic.

    There's no point running an inter cooler unless you go through the effort of reducing compression.

    You need to tell us what you what to use the for first. Fast street car, track/drag car or a combination of both. All will have a different setup

    Lol what? Even more reason to run an intercooler if you aren't going to decompress the engine. Especially in Australia's hot climate.

    Setup depends on three things:
    How fast you want to go.
    How reliable you want it to be.
    How much you want to spend.

    If you plan on leaving the motor stock, 3076 will be all you will want. Good low end punch but will run out of puff up top. Up to 500hp atw.

    Next will be the GT3582. A bit more lag, but monster mid range torque. Good for 700hp atw.

    Of course this is only the Garret branded turbos. There is also your precision turbos etc.

    My motto is: Do it once, do it properly.
    At least rebuild a stock engine, they are getting high in the KM's nowadays. But if you have the engine apart, you may as well decompress it. If you are decompressing it, you may as well go the bigger turbo. Haha the list goes on.

    Don't forget to budget for gearbox, suspension, brakes, wheels, Tyres, mounts.

    You can only run so much boost without decomp. It's not worth the hassle of fabbing up an effective intercooler for the 2 psi more you'll get with a cooler charge.

    It's not about extra psi, it's about making the intake temperature as cool as possible. VR6's already run hot without running a hot air pump straight into the intake. Hot intake = **** performance, detonation and eventually a big paper weight.
    The only time I wouldn't use an inter cooler would be if it was only going to be running on methanol or e85, and even then, why wouldn't you?
