VR6 Starting issue

I was running pretty low on fuel last night on way home and instead of filing up, went home with the intention of driving to the servo in the Morning that is 500m down the road.
Went to start thus Morning and for the life of me couldn't get it going. dead empty. Wet and got 10l fuel in filled with a Gerry can and still no go, wont turn over.
I have a feeling as a result of no fuel, the pump has **** itself.
I'm pretty sure from mem when you turn on on reds, h pump makes a petty distinctive noise and i cant hear a thing.
Can anyone confirm.
If so... anyone got a spare fuel pump. Im located in Sydney.. If so, how much?

I've got one here out of a CL. No idea what sort of distance it's travelled, but it was working the last time I drove the car.

Might get you out of trouble if you're willing to head towards Penrith tomorrow to grab it.

Cool. I take it cl/gl/ VR6 are compatible? What you asking for it?
Can only assume pump, can't hear noise coming from it. Checked relays, fuses and they seem ok

People always say they hear a noise coming from the pump with the ignition on but I don't.... Have even made the effort to lift up the boot mat but I can't hear it. So maybe the noise signifies that it's life is running out haha.

possibly, ever since ive owned it, u can haer it swirling, maybe always on way out?? just coincidence i run out of fuel and pump happens to go. cant put it down to anything else.
