Can't remember if it was obd1 or 2. But if its the later buy a chip tune for $200.
Or get the giac chip it came with modded to be more efficient.
Hey everyone,
I have met a few of you at the euro allstars meet. I have a 2 door vr6 that i bought from matt at Camden gti a year ago. After 6 months of owning the car i took a dive and bought a doner car with lots of mods. I replaced the interior with full leather, kw v2 coilovers, bbs rs wheels with bridgestone potenza RE001 rubber, upgraded the brakes (slotted), reconditioned gearbox, VF engineering stage 2 supercharger with 30lb injectors, polyurethane suspension bushes, new clutch, full sound system with 2x12 rockford fostgate subs, clarion lcd monitor, all other speakers are boston.... i think thats it.
So the trouble im having is regarding exhaust, cams and tuning...
The car has been running stock ecu, which is surprisingly good but car has been spitting oil from exhaust and chewing petrol like crazy.
The guys at silverwater automotive gave me a rough quote of $2000 for a custom tune. Is that reasonable?
Any suggestions on what i should do before the tune would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading.
Ill post some pics as soon as i get the time.

Yea that sounds good. will that solve the fuel/ oil problem?
Also what can i do to get the most power from the tune.
What is everyones thoughts on extractors? And also cams? Where is the best place to start?
cheers
Probably. Though there could be something else causing the oil issue. How old is the sc? Those v9 units leak very quickly.
However #30 injectors on stuck ecu is more than likely the cause for fuel dramas
Extractors don't necessarily make power. Good ported exhaust manifolds get yourself some custom made 2" down pipes and a 3" exhaust you'll make pretty decent power.
If you want cams I have a set of autotech 262 cams and lifters brand new for sale.
The sc is roughly 3 years old. Could you make any suggestions on where to get the exhaust done?
Sorry about all the questions but im getting desperate.
The cams and lifters look like they will cost around $400 all up.
Any decent exhaust shop should be able to put something together for you.
Exoticars is the giac people to talk to. Whether they can retune the chip you have I do not know.
Have a read on VWvoretex.
Come to the Mega Meet !
im very interested in this lugtronic ecu but not entirely sure how it works? Is already mapped or does it still need to be run through a computer?
Are there any guys that have had their exhaust done and can recommend a good place?
Ill be at the mega meet if i get off work in time!!!!!
Thanks again for all the help.
