    VR6 RHS drive shaft removal

Needed to change the driver's side inner CV joint boot since it was ripped. This is the one underneath the exhaust manifold and the heat from the exhaust hastens its demise - even when the stock heat shields are in place. Anyway, nothing out of the ordinary with the replacement but thought that I will share one point I noticed when removing the drive shaft.

At first it looked as though the shaft will not come out without moving the engine slightly. The inner joint will not pass through the gap when trying to remove the shaft in the hortizontal position. But then I realised that by rotating the shaft - outer joint towards the ground, the inner joint will then pass through the gap between the engine and the chassis. I had to jack the car up higher in order to do this but it did the trick. And it goes back in nicely the same way.

    Cheers.

I just undo the engine mount and lift the engine slightly
