Plenty in the UK have 200000 miles on them. Usually you need a top end rebuild if oil changes have been neglected. This often does in the bottom end too.

Clutches last upto 160000kms, depending on how they have been used.

I wouldn't discount a VR6 if it was up on mileage but had good history and didn't rattle.

My motor has almost exactly 250,000km on it. Still goes like mad.
My gearbox was rebuilt 18 months ago by previous owner (for some expense too apparently), no idea when the Km's were then but its going great now.

My believe my engine has been replaced at some point since the engine number doesn't add up right, so who knows. Cluster says 122k.

No idea what story is behind my car, I know it's been in an accident at some point, other than that, who knows.

    4 sale

the reason i bought this topic up is that i see most of the vr6's 4 sale have close to or over 200k on the clock,
so you wouldn't want to fork out any cash and expect to rebuild a motor and box in the short space of ownership,
this is the reason i ask about people who allready own vr6 cars what k's they have clocked up and what misshap's they have encounted along the way.
what k's can you expect before the compression starts to go before you need new rings and a new reco box.

Yeah, the average is 175k or there abouts, so yeah 200k is close to right.

As for having to rebuild a motor, if it's been looked after it should be ok.
