have you changed stuff after it come off the road other than the suspension? If so its likely to be related to one of those things.
Hey Tim,
I'm in Mordialloc, it doesn't sound like its on 5 cylinders - it acts like theres a fuel issue, really rough - you couldn't drive it at all.
Have to put the pedal down just to get it to stay running in idle! Really weird considering it was fine before I stopped driving it.

Nope - thats the thing haven't touched it beside charging the battery!
hey dude, i could be wrong,
but i had a real similar issue after my car had sat for like 2 months,
i had to keep reving to keep it going, then it died
ended up being the contact switch in the ignition...
Hmmm - you might be onto something there! Looks like a pita but maybe thats the issue
VWVortex.com - new ignition switch install
yeah dude id say its a fair bet thats your problem
order a few oem ones from europe, for the price of geniunie you'll get 3 or so...
and dont let your local mechanic do i, i got raped with a sizeable invoice after he had done the work...
Anyone else think this sounds like the problem? I am going to get the plug for vagcom and see if that tells me anything! I still kind of feel like it might be the coilpack
I have a couple of spare coilpacks kicking about if you need to borrow one for testing
Tim I might take you up on that! Would hate to buy one and have it not be that!
I had a similar issue with my old vr6, ended up I had accidently half unplugged the wiring loom from the injectors, going over bumps I would get a surge of power but idling and running was up the ^&8*
