    About Time

Well folks, I can happily say that the heater core is fitted and my car is back on the road again. The fiance is happy as she is the one who drives it. Thank god for the company car.

Thanks to anyone who helped. Replacing a heater core sure does suck arse.

I`m guessing you are having fun about now Science.

Yup you need to take out the kneebar, including grinding the two bolts off the steering column.

They you need to undoo the heater box from inside the engine bay and then pull it into the car a bit and finally get the stupid heater core out.

At least you only need to do it every 10 years.

    Have fun

You dont need to grind them off, i was able to undo the ends, and then just pull it all towards me and get enough clearance that way. much easer.

well, the core is back in, iv'e plaugged just about everything back in, and the dash pad is sitting about where its supposed to be. Iv'e taken a heap of photos, and i'll post some up later. Its too cold out side now, so the rest is going back in tommorow.

    Do you have any pics?

Ive got to replace my heater core in my VR6 as well. Also I have to replace my airbag ECU, Ive been told that the heater core has leaked into the airbag ECU which is directly below the core.

Also what kind of time frame is need to complete this job and does the steering wheel have to come out?
