vr6 heater core replacment

The heater core itself is pretty cheap, anywhere from $80 - $160 ish depending on who's quoting.

The $800 I paid would be pretty close to on par with the $600 you charged with the few other minor bits and pieces I had fixed up while the core was being replaced.

Seriously, right now. being winter and all, Heating ROCKS! Mind you with the VR I find it can easily get too hot and I need to turn down the heat

On a side note, TURN ON YOUR AC. 5 mintes a week with the heater going you will barely notice it on and it will keep your AC seals nice and fresh which will help to NOT sieze up your compressor costing you $$. Do it.

yes on that note im also doin the ac comp, starter motor sprayin me brake calipers the lazy man way fix my dash lights and find out why my right side parkers only turn on and they are still on even with the key out of ignition lol

The parker stays on if the indicator is left on, probably an issue there...

I noticed this and freaked out before I thought logically for a second...

Parkers stay on if your indicator is on, and if you move your indicator, your parkers follow!

yeah me stupid too i got 1 month and a half to get it all done befor i get me licence back so i got plenty of time

The guy that I bought the car off had his heater core and A/C replaced and I have the same thing in my VR where the heat has be turned off in a short while.

I did mine myself about 9 months ago.
It is a pretty scary job, but there is nothing particularly difficult about it.

If you are going to take it on, I recommend that you label everything, take heaps of photos of how things go together and keep track of all the nuts and bolts - There are a lot of them.

Make sure you disconnect the battery before you pull the airbags out and have the ingnition switched to on before you reconnect the battery to avoid the airbag light coming on.

When I had everything out of the car, I had friends telling me that i would never get it all back together, but it went back in surprisingly easy and everything still works!
