VR6 "cutting out" at 3500rpm on full throttle

Anyone ever had a similar issue? Someone mentioned there is some "anti-flog" thing that wont let you hurt you car when cold... but this is something else.

Even when the car has been running for over 30 mins, the issue still occurs sometimes.

If I slowly creep up the RPM, it's ok, but if I hit full throttle, it will cut out just when the car usually gets its power. If I hold my foot on the accelerator, the engine wont be running at all, and when I release my foot, the engine kicks back in.

    Any ideas?

what have you tried so far?

Sounds like leads or coilpack to me. Have you eliminated them?

Not as yet... gotta do a 400km drive tomorrow too

And codes... hrm yeah, not too keen on taking to VW.

It actually seems to be doing it a lot more often since I put MattyT's stock airbox in her.

when you change the air filter back steal MattyTs ignition leads.

If that doesnt work. Steal his coil. See if it helps

Buy one of those cheap scanners off ebay for $15. They ship direct from asia and only work with the old version of the vag-com software but it will be enough for you to scan the car if you have access to a laptop

Did you touch any of the clamps after the MAF when you installed the airbox? You may have non-metered air sneaking through causing it to go into limp mode...

We fiddled around with alot of stuff trying to wedge the airbox in. His freakin engine block was a few cm over to the right then mine, making it a huge hassle to get the airbox in. I'm pretty sure we even removed the MAF entirely at one point.

ps. dont steal mah leads n coils, dey is mine!!
