Saw one at a dealer off Parramatta Road. When driving to Uni, I noticed it was an early model VR6 cos of all the textured parts. Stopped by after I finished Uni, and found out it was a colour concept! The 6-spoke BBS wheels and the red and black leather interior gave it away easy. Another feature was that some of the plastics on the dash were woodgrain?? Was this a factory option?
The cost was advertised at $8999, which sounds decent. Car was looking good, except for some bonnet and grille stone chips. Paint looked really good too - think it's in Flash Red, so it was very eye-catching and bright in the sun. However, a lot of swirl marks. Looks stock as a rock too. Engine bay was clean. Only downside was that it has already clocked 190000km. Had a 10 CD stacker at the back and still had its factory floor mats, though they were in rough condition. Of course, couldn't take it for a test drive, and I didn't ask for the salesman to start the car up.
On the topic of car salesman, this guy was alright actually! I told him that I wasn't looking to buy, was only curious as I'm a VW watercooled enthusiast, but he was still keen to talk to me. Of course, he didn't know much about the car except that the P.O. used to live in Eastern Sydney. Oh, and it came with full logbooks, and was "regularly serviced". Though the word "regularly" is largely questionable.
Whoever's looking for a Mk3 VR6 should definitely have a look at this one!

Excuse me for the bad pics. They were only from my phone which was all I had.
That Red looks damn sweet, especially if my greenie is anything to go by.
Mine doesnt have "VR6 DOHC" in red though. Its just the usual grey engine cover colour.
NFI on the woodgrain. Mine doesn't have it. Looks a bit retarded I think. Better to go all black and have the red parts of the interior as the accents.
Good to see the gear stick is in nice condition. Mine looks TERRIBLE!
Mine too has a lot of stone chips. I guess its just par for cars this age. Nothing a respray cant fix!

woodgrain has been added aftermarket. looks horrible!
Colour concepts are cool and all. But i dunno if i could live with that red leather day to day!
and i thought the gearstick was sposed to be black just with red stitching?
Woodgrain doesn't suit it definitely. It would feel like you're driving some massive luxury car, which is hardly the case here.
I don't know about the colour scheme of the gear knob + gaiter cover, but it was actually worn on the edges. The camera picked up too much light in that area so can't really see
I just realised out of all those pics I took, I never took one of the complete car...
I would if I didn't live out in the west!![]()
The coloured leather isnt that bad honestly, although it sure does divide peoples opinions of the car!![]()
