    Vr6 brakes

G'day just wondering about the vr6 brakes, mine is a 95 vr so that means i have the 280ml rotors/brakes on the front?, what do i need to go to the 288's on the front apart from rotors? do i need new carriers? and are the rear brakes all the same on the vr from 94 to 97 modles? later modles didn't have bigger on the back did they? thanks

my car was a 95 model and it had the 288s. Australian spec VRs didnt really follow the US so its best to check first.
Best way to do so is by checking the thickness. 280s are 22mm and 288s are 25mm.

But yeah you should be able to do a 288mm upgrade pretty cheaply if you beg steal and borrow the parts. Ive recently just done the 312mm S3 upgrade on mine which is probly worth a thought.

If you've got calipers that look like this, they're 288mm brakes.

For a brake change, you need the caliper, carrier, brake disc, brake pads obviously and some time and knowledge. Loon helped me out with my brake upgrade and I think it cost me 250 with his help and a swap of parts.

this is what a 288 looks like.

take a front wheel off and have a look. the 280s have slight lower offset wheel mounting face. (the surface with the holes for the wheel bolts sticks out noticable more)

Was the S3 upgrade bolt on? Will they fit under stock rims?
