VR6 brake upgrade. anyone done one?

Its on my things to do/wish list.

What kinda brake upgrades is there for a VR6?

I would love some big Bremos or AP Racing showing through my BBS but the price is unrealistic for me.

Porsche calipers are a common converstion on VW's.
Does anyone know which porsche calipers require less amount of modifing than others? (to fit a VR6)

I wouldnt mind going 300mm maybe a lil bigger.

I'm watching this one with interest as well. I have to check my fronts, they might already be upgraded, the rears on the other hand look tiny...

the trick is to go to Audi TT brakes isn't it?

They are 312mm or somthing and use the same calipers as the 288mm VR6's.

I know thats what i want to do, but you need 16" or 17" rims to do it, and i have no money either way.

yes my vr6 is 94. when i compare the fronts to Alex's stock 95 VR6 brakes(tazzyVR6) they seem bigger.

I think mine have been upgraded to 288mm (later model VR6 brakes) instead of the early 280mm.

Ooo and also has anyone upgraded the rears. lol they are tiny. I really have no idea why vw put such small disks on the rear. would of been better of with drums hahaha

yeah, but you will need the carryers to hold the caliper further away so the disk will fit.

As for the rears, there is no need. I have never been able to get the rears hot enough to justify changing them, they just dont do any work.

Volkswagen sell them, same again on the R32. ecstuning.com is another place but postage is a killer.

Google would be a good place to start.
