When it comes to the rear brakes, is there anyway to move some of the braking force to the back? Or does this become a long complcated job that involves replacing the entire braking system?
my vr6 had its brakes upgraded, the first owner done it, but i had no idea what they were.. one of my mates said they look like Rx7 brakes..![]()

This is a interesting thread and I have done the 280mm brake conversion to 288mm!
For the 312mm upgrade you need a set of 17s before you can even think of attempting the upgrade cause 16s won't fit, there huge and have some good stopping power but you need alot more than what you guys are saying!
Matty, I recommend the upgrade I already had slotted rotors front and back, so I went with another slotted set 288mm with Redstuff brake pads slightly more aggressive than the greenstuff pads which I have on the back.
What you will need are new brake lines, calipers and rotors and might as well change the brake fluid when you get the chance.
I'm soo euro even my missus is shaved...

they look like 288mm brakes?
they appear to be the factory 288mm brakes.
I have EBC Black stuff on the back and what i was told is green stuff on the front.
Stops magically, however i am going to swap the fronts over to a new set of greens shortly and add extra anti squeal paste... noisy buggers. will report back then.
fyi mine are 280mm
