hey guys
just a quick question, are the brake pads for a 94 vr6 the same as ones for 95 onwards. Cos of the bigger brake system?
Oh and just an update on the DOG. While the old man was replacing the two oil seals on the front of the engine, (think its for the oil cooler?), a the bloody freaken coolant blastic pipe literaly just crumbled.
So im replacing that and changing the thermostat while im at it. I reckon ive replaced every part that craps itself on vr6's. so it will be on the road s00000n!!

They are different.
ahhh,,now I remember.. they are different due to pre 95 not being vented.so the pad thickness is different thats all.if need be,you can grind them down.
ask mk3vr6,his car is pre 95 but has the vented discs.

by vented disks u mean, in between the rotor there are grooves. cant really expain it. there not all solid as normal rotors. if so then the DOG has vented disks.

vented discs has the vents in between one side of the disc to the other,as you have explained it.when you order the pads,tell them you have the vented discs.steve had the same problem..

I was told the late pad was about 20mm longer as well.

The later cars have 288mm rotors and the early have 280mm.
The changeover was 95, but lots of the 95s were sold in 96 so check your build date, on a plate by the compliance plate.
The cars without sideskirts and oval side repeaters should be the later pads, but its not always that simple.

Mine is borderline, they made it difficult, mine has vented disks, in other words there slotted!
My advice is go the green stuff I think there called.
I'm soo euro even my missus is shaved...

I Have EBC Green Stuff pads on my VR6
I would advise you against getting them. To tell you the truth I didnt really notice any difference using them, also they can warp disks which I think they have done.
I have done a little research on this and find other people saying they have also had the same problem
