    VR6 brake booster vacuum hose

    Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone else has had to replace their vr6 brake booster vacuum hose that runs from the intake manifold to the brake booster? Mines melted and carked it and I was hoping to beat the stealership and what seems to be a $60 part. Can I just use some regular rubber hose from supercheap? Or is this an OEM or bust situation?

    Cheers,
    Max

Most random rubber hose would just get sucked flat by the vacuum. I'd go OE and I am really, really tight!!

Hahaha fair call gav, that's what I thought as well but some of those hoses are fairly stiff. Cheers for the input . I might try the hose place near work first though!

OE not the only way for sure but you know it'll work. Needs to be pretty stiff and not just when it's cold!!

All sorted. It's 12mm stock nylon vacuum pipe but that was a tight squeeze onto the push fittings. So I went with some 16mm from the local pipe store at work and thats worked like a charm.

Problem now is that I still cant get my aircon re circulation going. As soon as it the car heats up it stops working. I suspect its a buggered 2 way solenoid? Anyone got experience?
