I don't work in the city anymore and if I have to go there I'd take the wife's new auto magna. Manuals are a pain in traffic. Then again I fang the GTI to work everyday so a change of pace is nice
the VR6 got its update in 96. Coloured bumpers. bigger brakes. no fender flares.
The autos from what i have heard are a bit of a lazy thing. and prone to weird shifting patterns and are hard to diagnose.
steering wheel should have stitching around the inside of the rim. they do tend to lose their grain after a bit of wear and look very smooth.
This one sounds like a car to definately walk away from. there are still quite a few low km vr6s out there. and theyre still in good nick. Decent service history id say is a must.
Personally id be looking privately. I think you will find a better loved car.

i went nuts driving my old Auto commo. It was damn sweet in the mornings with peak hour, but for the rest of the time it just pissed me off.
I hate it when you're going around a corner and it all of a sudden kicks back... feels so sus.
Im sure a auto VR wouldn't be to bad though, crap loads better than a 4cyl auto anyway.
1995 Dragon Green VR6 - Dead

from what i know cruise control is on one of the stalks
ditto on leather wheel - should have stitching. roof lining falling?? mines a 94-5 and no problems there.
yep - one to stay away from

cruise is on the left hand stalk. same as indicator
Mate, thats what leather looks like after 10 years in the Aussie sun. Get one without leather, as the cloth was hard wearing, get a retrim, or just polish up the leather, There are lots of products to do it.
I`d be more interested in the engine and transmission.
Body looks alright though.

Yea the body was pretty good. I know that weather wears, but this is another reason which makes me come to the conclusion that it has been neglected. If it was taken care of, and re-conditioned every so often it would not look like that. Like you said it can be treated...
I noticed that the disc brakes were rusted, and the original wheels were taken off a later model Golf?
See the cruise control under the left side indicator? Aftermarket??
Body might look deceiving, but the engine and transmission were completely stuffed .
funny that the paint is good but the leather is not so - i would think these go hand in hand, unless the car has had a good touch up and polish on the outside.
aftermarket cruise for sure.
wheels hmm - why would you take off the cross spoke bbs unless you went for something bigger or better - those are pretty lamo wheels in my opinion ... stolen perhaps??

most peoples BBS rims are starting to look quite tired by now as they are hard work to keep clean. very easy to curb the faces of them as well if you cant drive too well :p
Thats the main reason i replaced mine with aftermarket rims.
