    VR6 Air Intake Hose

    Hey all,
after investigating why the was so much oil around my engine bay i discovered that the intake hose with the valve coming from the crank case has disintegrated, leaving oil through the hole in take system.
does anybody know where i can get the part from?? and is it possible to to just get the valve cos the rest of the hose is fine????
any help will be much appreciated

    cheers Sam

Photo attached not sure if it will work!

    Hey mate,

You cant just buy the valve, it comes as a complete kit including pipe. But you have a few options on what to do.

1 just join a bit of pipe from the crankcase to the intake hose.

2 put a oil catch can on it

3 or buy the whole part new (will be more $$$$ then the first 2 options)

I'm running option 1 at the moment mine fell apart aswell. Seems to work fine, I guess the TB will get dirty quicker in the long run. Eventually I will put a oil catch can on it.

Option 3 is 250+ from the stealer. I broke my PCV when I was removing the hose so I could change my rocker cover gasket. The brittleness of the plastic didn't help.

Mine did the same thing, was replaced with straight pipe which would have put a full time vacuum on the crank, although I didn't notice anything terrible...

When I was removing the throttle body coolant pipes I noticed that pipe had broken so looked at the oil catch can, which was nearing the price of the genuine part, in the end I opted for the $20 solution... atmo vent

I haven't noticed any oil buildup in the filter, haven't noticed any buildup on the bonnet (or surrounding parts) so it looks like it's all good.
