Hi all,
As title reads, it's as if something is holdin it back and wont freely rev.
Where to start looking? leads ? plugs? Air flow meter ?
Have a MK4 therefore very new to the MK3 world (recently purchased)....
Appreciate any help as usual.

Plugs you can get from supercheap, as for leads and coil packs go on ebay.uk or ebay.us as per the following links:

I have a set of these Formula power leads in my car and they're great, but also need some clips to hold in place as they are 10mm wide and cannot fit in the normal channels.
And here is my coilpack which is also great:

Hope that helps!

Fuel filter definitely worth checking.
Fuel pump with a failing impeller and also pump relay can cause hesitation.
Another possibility is fuel pressure regulator with a leaky diaphragm. This can be checked by testing to see whether there is any fuel on the vacuum-line side of the FPR.
Leaky vacuum lines have also been know to cause problems on occasion.

With regards to the above leads, do you have to purchase the clips seperatley? from the same site ?
Anyone else had good experience with any other leads ??

I've got the same thing with mine although I think mine's a transmission problem at the moment.
It's been many things, and I'll fix it once but it comes back again. Prepare to live with it!! haha only joking.

I just used white polyurethane electrician clips which drilled into the plastic of the engine cover and that held them in place, keep mine they're a quad copper core lead as well and may interfere with your radio, not that I've ever had that though.
