I have the same plan for mine, so please keep updated
Hi all
I'm the lucky recipient of a complete 312mm brake upgrade kit courtesy of Neroo (buy the rest of his Bora V6 here) and to be honest, the whole setup looks virtually brand new.
Im pretty stoked and and he was also nice enough to drop it off. super nice guy!
anyway, ive got the calipers, the carriers, the pads and disks. I also have the oem clips and bolts.
after spending the better part of the evening trying to get a definitive answer (and obviously not finding one) i thought id ask here.
I have a set of washers on the way, to make up the 6mm spacing and I know i need some longer high tensile bolts but does anyone know what size for certain? M12 @ least 40mm? then I read somewhere that its 12mm but with an m10 fine thread? which one is it and where can i buy them.
Also the brake hoses are complete, but will they need to be modified/changed to fit my 94 VR6? Im not certain if its 280 or 288 atm, but im gonna change the calipers anyway, it looks bigger physically which obviously isnt a bad thing.
cheers

ok, well thanks to my cousin and some moral support from Neroo (whom i bought the brakes from), they're now fitted to my VR.
Here is what you need to know:
I bought the complete kit from Neroo from his part out V6 Bora. The kit had the calipers (with complete brake lines), carriers, pads and 312mm rotors.
I bought 4x 40mm high tensile (10.9), fine pitch (1.5) hex head bolts from Dandy Bolts for $7
I sourced 3mm washers from the UK for $10 shipped for a pack of 10. You need 2 for each bolt
The brakes bolt straight in, but...
The brake hoses will connect to your existing lines, but the clips that mount the lines to the body do not fit. I used zip ties.
You will also need to lose your brake guards.
The brake pad sensor connectors are also different and will need to be soldered and resisted (im putting up with the CEL for now).
Weight difference is substantial. The old setup is quite light compared to the new hardware, but the stopping performance is simply AMAZING!
My previous setup was 280mm so i needed to change the caliper also. Those sporting 288mm calipers can just change the rotors according to many sources.
Before and after pics:
Hope that helps
Nice !
Now can we get some full pics of the car
and how come no one told you, to go see tim at Dub Addiction ? He did his a long time ago, so he knows how it's done.
Oh wait I wonder if there's a difference between the bora & S3 brakes ?
Cause tim has the S3 brakes iirc.
