ventos leak like a sieve in the rear end
Heat-shrink wrap tube? Used often for electrical cables. Might be a better solution.
Past - '95 VW Golf MK3 VR6
Present - '11 Ford Focus LW Diesel (PSA DW10C)
ventos leak like a sieve in the rear end
nice plates btw
I'll take that into consideration as well. Thanks Stefan!
Yeah? I have yet to notice. I'll give it a wash this weekend and see if theres any leaks! the MK4 by comparison just seems like such a big step up in terms of everything, quality, parts used, etc.... but hey, #MK3life hahaha
Did the rest of the moulding clips on both sides of the car by replacing them with fresh items. Lots of dirt and grime build up overtime.
Old clips. Some were broken, some had the rubber torn.
Used some of this stuff to get rid of the dirt and grime
Came up a treat
New clips installed ready to go
FK hoodlifts installed

Mate just picking up a comment from the random thread. Both your aux water pump and main have been done and the main has the metal impeller. Not worth changing for a while IMO they're not old.
When the engine was out, the aux was done a bit earlier, but I reckon it should still be fine, it's much easier to get to as well. Most of the cooling system has been fettled with, hoses/pumps/crack pipe aren't that old. The heater core was actually working, until the spout leading into the engine bay broke off (so it was probably due for replacement) BUT if you did want to get the heater going you could just reconnect it with something that will fit over the remains of the spout (maybe feed a slightly smaller metal piece into it, then clamp onto that?? Just an idea. Heater core is bypassed with the existing hoses there's just one elbow piece that should have been in the glove box or somewhere in the spares to rejoin the core into the loop. (May need to top water up once done).
Ah sweet. I have a VW OEM aux pump ready to go in case I needed to put it in. The samco hoses are still fine. Crack pipe looks okay but will probably change to a billet item later on, prob gruvenparts or 42DD or something.
Planning on doing heater core later on too. I have a new heater core sitting here with me but from what I've been told its a pretty big job as the dash needs to come out. It doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun to be honest.
Just want to do the suspension refresh and clutch/chains first as the car has developed a clutch rattle it seems. Wanna make sure its all good mechanically.
Crack pipe should have a few good years in it yet. No rush for billet IMO as current is OEM and in good nick. Chains/clutch will make a world of difference I sold it cheap partly taking those jobs into account.
A mate dented that sill under the drivers door because he put the trolley jack well behind the mounts, I couldn't be mad because he was helping but always thought some VR6 side skits might be a nice factory VR look and hide it... food for thought.
