I saw an ugly booted Golf the other night in traffic and I just presumed it to be a personal import until I checked on redbook and found them to be an officially supplied model.
Does anyone have any idea of how many were sold here?

I'm guessing 200 were sold here as that seems to be the magic number for rare official models. I can sell you some Hottuning coils for $850 that would make it look sweet.

There are 3 for sale on Drive with them up for about the same money as an equivalent Mk3 Golf.
Slammed on some mesh for the victory.
As an aside Robin did I buy some Hotwires off you a while ago that got flogged out of your car?

The Vento was sold here from mid 1995-early 1997.
About 400 were sold locally,with a few others coming in from South Africa as personal imports.
It was also called the JETTA 3 in many other parts of the world,where it was very popular.
It saved VW in America,and easily outsold the Golf thereby a huge margin.
