    Urgent Coilover help needed please

Hey Guys, sorry too keep asking for help, but im all out of ideas here! I have recently installed a set of Hottuning coilovers and after some surprises (like stripped camber bolts). I finally got them in but the issue is that the top strut bolt (front struts) will not go all the way through, I posted about this before in my other thread Finally got myself a VR6 (but not accelerating right) but still no go, I got some help from Hayden who suggested that I take it to a macky and get them to rattle gun the bolt further but also no progess. I left the car with them because I really need it as it is my daily, but they also could not get it any further despite taking it off dissembling the strut and putting it back together again.

Has anyone experienced this issue or heard of anyone experiencing this issue, does anyone have any ideas? Im desperate to get this mounted correctly and from the pic you can see its about 3/4 way through an its not safe to drive like that. Thanks so much guys and appreciate all help.

Thanks for your reply Dylan8, yeah I used a alan key to hold it but how much can I turn it I turned it and it seemed to just turn until I left the tension.

    VWVortex.com - > DIY MK4 springs <

check out half way down the first post where he has the alan key and socket over it.
thats what you want to do, I just do it up until it feels secure. Never had one come undone etc

Thanks again Dylan, that's exactly what I tried, i think my issue is more that I have very little thread showing for me to turn the nut on. I am using the same strut mount and bushing as the ones that came off the car. The only different is that I am using camber bolts but that should not cause this issue?

Should I have compressed the coilovers spring when bolting the the strut mount to the coilover?

    Urgent Coilover help needed please

When I done my mounts I just unbolted it, shoved it back in and got an impact gun on it. Had enough torque to over come the spinning of the strut.

Maybe you put your mounts in upside down or something? That could cause a problem.

This. or is the lower strut tightened up enough?
do mk3s have a nut that holds the bearing or spring hat down, then the other (as above) that holes it to the body...?
