Look pretty damn good from what I can see so far.
Might be worth resizing the pics, they are a tad on the large side
How hard were the centre insert parts to trim? And what fabric did you end up using?

yeh sorry for the poor quality pics, i've resized them now, anyone who looked before the resize will need to clear their cache...

    I used cream microsuede from Spotlight @ $19.95 p/m

You can only slightly see it, but i had to sew a seam in the upper fabric part of the door. Unlike some of the US versions, this part does NOT come out. otherwise it would have been a f*ck load easier than it was.

I'll see if I can take some better pics of the way I did the upper part. I now also have a calico pattern for both the front and rear doors. If anyone else wants to give it a go I'll redo the patterns properly and upload them as a pdf or something...

It took me all day to do it. From 9.30am to about 5pm... with a beer/lunch break for about 30 minutes. In saying that, now that I have a pattern, it would be alot easier if i decided to do it again...

Yep, thats the reason I got put off. That removeable section would make it much easier. Matt suggested you could cut up two sets of door cards to make a removeable section, which would fit together neatly... still considering that.

If I had could stitch THROUGH the door card I think I could do something, but it's quickly falling into the too hard basket.... although I have some interesting ideas none the less. I passed up on some door cards last week while I was at Matts place... just seemed like I couldn't get the finish I wanted with the door card in once piece and the tools I have. (Also consider that my door cards are black, matching and pretty much perfect as is )

I will be very interested to see a write up on what you did, but more importantly, I want some info on how you did the edges on the arm insert along with some close up's of those edges. Thats the bit I'm just not convinced I can finish well enough so that it doesn't *annoy* me to tears.

Your words are true Hawk. I would hate to do this myself and have it finish nicely but not well, and be constantly annoyed when I see the edges.

Can't wait for the write-up Lachie!
