    Mk3 should run a 195/50/15 or similar. Sounds like you have mk4 spec wheels on

    Yeah mk4 sized rubber..
    205/55/15 or 205/50/15 for a mk3 vr?

    I do have mk4 spec wheels on, I know this. Not sure if this is possible or a stupid question but can I use the tires from the stock wheels (the mk3 BBS wheels)?

    yeah if both 15s that'll be fine but your current tyres are too big

    They say pictures are a thousand words so here's one. The thing is, I couldn't really find where the wheels were rubbing but it did sound like they were so maybe it's actually the springs that are bad? I know that if I press into the car on the rear right the spring creaks. Was like this from the start.

    Id say the top of tyre was hitting body.

    As said above. Your tyre sizes are to big, even for factory mk3.

    But no marks seems a bit strange, wouldn't there be visible marks?

    Take the wheel off and you'll get a better idea if it's rubbing?

    It's probably the tread of your tyre inside the wheel well. Not the guard on sidewall. As stated if you take the wheel off you might see something. M
