Replacing the timing chain is cheaper than a head full of bent valves....
If you think it's about time, get it done.
Hey guys,
Got another stupid question for you all
How would I know if my timing chain is starting to go? I've done a bit over 181,000km in my VR and I've been told they go at this time. I think my timing is slightly out because my car (yes clutch related too) doesn't pull as hard as other VR's.
I've got my clutch to do anyway, and i've ALSO been told the timing chain requires removal of box to get to, so I'm wondering if I should just spend the extra money to buy it and do it when my box is out?
Opinions/advice appreciated Productive opinions though,please

That's a very good point
$150 isn't too steep a price to unwillingly accomodate.
Done!
