    Thrust Bearing...

So after a hard take off today, the vr6 begin making a noise similar to a jackhammer hah
..soon after, i realised the clutch became much stiffer, but wouldnt make the noise if it was half engaged.
i spoke to my mates old man, hes sure its the thrust bearing...
am i better off changing the clutch? or just having the bearing fixed.

How long since your last clutch change?

Irrespective of anything the gearbox has to come out to change the throwout bearing so if you are a little short on cash then u can inspect the clutch and see how much life it has left.

If it were me, id change it anyway along with the rear crank seal.

If you are going to spend the time or the $$$ taking the gearbox out, you might as well do the lot.... clutch kits and all the other bits and pieces are not 2 expensive if you know where 2 buy them from.
