Hey mate, what did you use for the replacement on that oil catch on the breather pipe from the crankcase vapour? I can see something yellow though

the exhaust is in i just havent got a photo will post up soon though
its just a catch can from super cheap
connected with a fire hose lol
i couldnt find anything else at home, i do need to fix this hehe
i did some modifying to my catchcan after reading on from this link
http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1940008
heres my abomination i slapped together at home from lots of different things
i bought the can from supercheap
gunk left inside after emptying it
nice and clean
here is the top, it already had 3/8 bspt (tapered thread)threads
although i had to tap it out more with a 3/8 bsp (parallel thread)tap so i could screw a double ended fitting through it
purpose of this was so i didnt have to weld anything
this is the top finished, i joined the hose to the top i screwed in using standard pneumatic fittings
thus extending the inlet to the bottom of the can
for the breather i used an exhaust silencer commonly found on pneumatic machinery
the can with the stainless steel wool inside acting as a filter
finished
in the car hiding next to the intake
i used 3/4 inch steam hose its the only stuff i could find that fitted the hose barb on the car
Forgive me for the n00bity of this question, but which oil catch did you replace?

i didnt replace it i modified it the first pic you see is the one i put in about a year ago when my pcv valve broke i didnt post anything about it back then
nice work but im not sure u would really want to put steel wool in there. i know it might be a long shot but you wouldnt want any fibres to be sucked into the motor if u know what i mean. its also gonna lower the capacity to store oil so u have to change it more often. just a thought.
