to take out sunroof?

ey guys im gunna respray my golf and for the roof i need to take the sunroof off any one done it before and how hard is it? cheers

It should all come out as a cassette, it's been a while but IIRC you open the roof and take out the screws that hold the 2 siderails down and the ones across the front of the roof too. Then wind it shut and remove the trim and handle followed by the gearbox bit. It should all then come out by pushing the front edge from inside and taking the whole lot out towards the front of the car.

Try your hardest not to move the cables while it's out. Refitting is the reverse of removal (Haynes stylee). Just be dead slow the first time you try to wind it back, make sure the back of the sunroof drops evenly before it goes into the roof of the car. If not stop and move the cables with a small screwdriver and try again.

so far i know is it need to take out the roof lining and its mounted from inside, also goes out this way. at golf 3
