I'm pretty sure I've seen a Vento VR6, it was red and had textured bumpers with the textured wheel trims too, but it was going the opposite direction so I didn't get a good look at it. This was early last year in QLD.

This one is a South African private import.
Perfect for a VR6 conversion as its an import and the RTA have no spec sheet on it, so you would not need engineering.

Yep i'm pretty sure that's the one I saw. Same story though it was going the other direction along the Gold Coast Hwy in Broadbeach, so didn't get a real good look at it. Definitely saw the VR6 badge though

I didn't realise they didn't come in here, i just thought there were very few.

Thats my old Jetta CLX. That is a great vehicle, but the boot has been resprayed because of a roller door at Barlow Mascot falling onto it. The front gaurds are diffrent also, one is oval the other is square at the repeater lamps. The front bar is from a Golf.
Does have a new heater tho (I hate replacing them). Rear drums, no bags sux.

My old Golf (85 CL South African private import) needed a engineering report for that VR6 engine, but that was back in 96. I don't know if the rules have changed?

That vento looks cool, would be sweet with a VR6 or better yet, a 20vT.

There was a black manual one I PM'ed dom about that was the one I guess sold when the owner didn't respond. Seems crazy spending VR6 money just because it has a boot. My 2c

JAIMO,I was quite curious,as the Jetta CLX had a 1.8 motor, yet the ad states that your old car has a 1.6.
Also the alloys are not the origional very attractive VW ones.
I also owned one in South Africa in Emerald Green,it was a great car.

    Thumbs up

That's right it's a 1.8 carby, I don't remember the engine code. The wheels are from an Aust compliance vehicle. They were a dealers option at the time, for Golf & Cordoba. (The same wheel but different center caps). The original wheels were sold on ebay because they were shockers, not attractive at all.
