Never installed a turbo but I hear a 1.9 tdi turbo and manifold will relatively "bolt on" and be the cheapest option.

Whichever way you go be prepared to be spending about what you payed for the car if not more just to turbo.

    the name is Michael lol

I want to get quickness and speed ou of it plus the awesome sound. As far as looks i want to totally upgrade it because right now it is looking very plan except for the tints. I been lookin at some body kits, but major of the ones that fit don't like. lol I am going for a sleek street look you know. nothing too much...

    handling>power IMO.

good handling can make any car fun to drive. replace the front end rubber components (especially look at R32 control arm bushings) a decent set of coilovers (weitecs, KW) and even some decent tyres if you want to go that far and you'll be having heaps of fun. You can also swiss cheese your airbox. won't get you any power but makes the car sound a whole lot better. and its free

    Good luck finding one!
though in America i think the only mk3 TDI was the Vento.

If you look into the mk3 appreciation thread, lots of subtle and extreme things have been done to golfs, but IMO golfs have never been about 'Look at me! I'm riding on 20'' and have a bonnet scoop and a massive wing that gives me 5+ Horsepower and 3+ torque!'.

Lots of mods that are common in the VW scene are illegal in Aus, but that doesn't stop them of course, it just costs more :/
    Got pictures of yours?
