dreaming am I
I have done A LOT of research in the past few weeks.
Sold my VR6 motor.
Bought an R32 motor.
Spoken to several people that have done this conversion.
Talked to the man with the megasquirt...who has an r32 powered mk3 running the VVT and intake manifold changeover...he is giving me the map that he has worked on for 3 years and perfected. He is also making me an engine loom for me.
A VR6 gearbox will bolt up with a VR6 clutch with no modification.
All the sensors from a VR6 bar the cam sensors plugs straight in.
I need to modify the cam sensor and run a magnetic 24v one with an early cam sensor and shim it.
Front motor mount has to be shimmed.
Adapter plate must be made for the OBDII throttle body to fit.
All the electronics bar the fuel and spark will run off the original ECU.
Can't remember off the top of my head but there is a company that has a manifold that goes from r32 exhaust mani to bolt directly up to the mk3 exhaust.
or i can go standard exhaust manifold with audi tt 2.8 down pipe to standard mk3 exhaust.
Sound feasible now?
