    mk4 indicators

Ok, so i ordered these side indicators from TMTuning.
they were in the mk3 section and even on the box they came in they say mk3.

though they do not fit as you will see in this photo, mine is the one on the right

what the heck! the ones they sent me were mk4 ones, even though on the box they say late mk3.
should i complain to them or should i just try get mk4 sockets with the plug and wire that into mine, cos if they thinkg these are for mk3's then its not likely theyll have any other ones also for mk3s that WILL fit mine right?

did mk3's over seas come out with different indicator sockets and plugs and what not? mine looks like this

Lol, welcome to wonderful world of TM tuning! You can get a set on Ebay for just under $20, and are identical to the TM Tuning models, that pretty much goes for most of their accesories.

i feel like a bloody idiot. but its not my fault! why would they change the plug for different counties!

would the ones off ebay actually FIT mine? being the different plug, im assuming, from the rest of europe?

should i be trying to get my money back?

Dude don't feel like an idiot. Shoot them over an email with the pictures you've shown us clearly outlining they fudged up. Ask them what they're going to do about it and express that you hope they can sort their problem out with you without any of your efforts involved as you received something you didn't order.

Oh, and if they wanna get nasty about it and refuse, just tell them www.vwwatercooled.org.au won't buy from them anymore and we make up almost all of the aussie dub enthusiasts. That should give them a kick in the right direction! heheheh

Ive been caught out by this in the past...It was really annoying at the time!
I sussed it by getting the mk4 loom socket (rubber push-on) ones.

You then just change the mk3 bayonet plug to mk4.

I did get them new at mates rates (they come with the socket, two 10cm wires attached 2x) but if you have a wreckers close - check VW's with that oval indicator - mk4's, B5 Passats and Polos etc

The ebay ones fit, I've bought 2 sets and the only thing I've had to do is put a touch of silicone on the back of them to keep the condensation out.

TMTuning gets theirs from chinese makers, same with alot of their products like their pedals and their better selling headlights/tailights

Good luck trying to returning them, they'll make you pay the postage to and back and only then will they refund you just for the amount you have paid for the item

They've got a nice website, but average products, abysmal customer service and even worse prices...

    thats terrible news!
well im going to send them an email now and see what they have to say.

either that or yeah i go to a wreckers and look for two mk4 plugs and sockets. god! as if i can be bothered doing that.
i HATE spending money on something and still having to do work/spend more money so get it to work!

lets see what they have to say first

be thankful the issue is only with a set of cheap indicators. I think we have all had issues like this in the past. Its all part of the joy of bringing stuff in from overseas. Never know whats gonna show up on your doorstep until it gets there!
