    steering wheel/gear stick retrim

anyone done this? both of mine are torn to shreds since my car is almost 21.

i want it as close to oem as possible but i have the feeling it will turn out pov and be really obvious. resigned to the fact it's not gonna be anywhere near but it's better than holding ripped bits of leather.

    any good places in melbourne?

Any auto trimmer should do. I had to replace my headlining and the guy who did it has done an excellent job. Looks completely stock.

I have also seen the kits on eBay. I was wondering if you could just buy the kit, and take your car and the kit to an experienced person and maybe have them do it for you for a small fee? The steering wheel does appear to be tricky to do if you don't do stitching very often.

I doubt many trimmers would take on a job and if they did they would charge you the same fee as if you got the leather from them as well. I believe there is a few tutorials on youtube on how to re-trim a steering wheel, i think as its a relatively simple shape it wouldn't be that hard and i don't see why it should take more then an hour to retrim the wheel.

Could you post a link to that ebay ad?
