    Steel wheels

Maybe look into the ones surfpig had on the Vento. Mighty mods ones didn't fit.

nah in all seriousness i am so confused as to what to put on there.
Moving away from the steel wheels, does anyone know the stud patterns for other wheels?
I know that the stud pattern for the mk3 2.0 is 4x100.

I was thinking porsche/audi/mercedes wheels? or possibly just finding some bbs if i can be bothered with the money... i need suggestions!

Mate, what's your budget. Sky is the limit. I've seen lambo wheels and brakes on our little old mk3s. A lot can be done. In answer to your question though. Porsche(5x130) audi(5x100 or 5x112) mercedes(5x112) so if you were to fit anything other than 4x100 obviously you're looking at adapters which will raise your cost another $380 or so.
You can look into things like old bmw wheels that came in 4x100 also civics and heaps of other cars. Plenty of aftermarket options available to suit the 4x100 pattern and I highly suggest getting your head around offset calculations (remember offset is nothing without width!) first especially if you're thinking about adapters.

If you're unsure about all the things that determine if a wheel will fit (brake clearance, centre bore, width, offset) better to go with something that you've previously seen that has worked.

i would be willing to pay up to $500 for a full set. Surfpig, could you post photos or link me where to find the photos of your steelies?

Thanks a heap Anthony, I'm new to the whole fitment thing, and I'm not 100% sure what offset really is. Am I right in saying it's from the hub to the end of the rim?

    Thanks again

Measuring offset:How To: Measure OFFSET on your Rims

    You're talking about backspacing.

Get the measurements of current wheels and new wheels throw them into here (Online Wheel & Tyre Fitment calculator. Offset, Tyre stretch and Rolling Radius calculator) to see the differences.
