just the rain evaporating off the hot bonnet??
Just noticed the last couple of days thanks to the rain that there's a bit of steam coming off the bonnet when it gets to temp... but I also noticed the same thing happened today even though there was no water on the car/it hasn't rained at all in the past ~12 hours.
I had all the cooling hoses, crack pipe, thermo housing, water pump etc changed when I had the engine swapped so could it be either lacking coolant or could my radiator be leaking?
just the rain evaporating off the hot bonnet??
thats what I initially thought but it happened today when there was no water present at all on the bonnet. Will monitor it over the week though
haha, that'll teach me for not reading your whole post :p
As soon as you notice it, pull over, pop the bonnet and have a look?
haha no worries
Did that as soon as I spotted it in the driveway and it just seemed to disappear... Again, I'll keep an eye on it because I've got no idea as to what it could be. All hoses and everything related to cooling is brand new
mk3 playing games, that's unusual.... haha, hope it's not a lead up to something critical.... keep one eye on that temp gauge man
yeah thats what I forgot to mention, the whole time its doing it the temps have been normal so 90 for coolant and around 100 for oil...
had a similar problem on my old S12 silvia
ended up being a super tiny oil leak dripping from my rocker cover into my exh manifold cover.
whenever a tiny drop of oil hit the cover, a small puff of smoke would come out of my bonnet.
could be something similar?
You did mention you needed a new hose for your washer jets…… its not slowly dripping water from the old hose onto your engine is it?? just a thought.
Red 9N3 Polo GTI (sold)
Mk3 3dr Vr6 Project
could be that because I did accidentally use them the other day but I doubt that the whole washer line is leaking and causing it; I've got whats left sitting in the rain tray away from harm. By the way, I'll text you to ask what time is good this week/weekend to come round and pick that up.
