Starting a VR6 after sitting for three years?

Hey guys, I've got a 96 MK3 VR6 Golf that's been sitting in a garage for close to three years. Was running fine before being stored in a car port for the past couple of years. I think it might have had a 1/4 tank of fuel. Engine has around 180000km on it

Any recommendations for engine prep before starting it?

I've tried to syphon out the old fuel but the hose came back dry so figure I'll just top up with some fresh fuel. Is it worth chucking in some injector cleaner?

I'll probably get it serviced once its back moving again.

Injector cleaner, 98 fuel, octane booster, new oil.

Wouldn't hurt to take the intake manifold off and valve cover to check top chain tension..

Plugs out, full battery. Shot of oil down each plug hole. 30 seconds of cranking to get the oil pressure up. Plugs in and go nuts.

Use the starter, don't want to put your back out. Maybe rock it in gear if it's manual to be sure its not locked solid but reason it should be if it was under cover.

Pull fuse 18 out and give it a good crank with the plugs out to try and build up a little oil pressure

18 is the fuel pump if my memory is correct

Mine was purchased after sitting for 1 year. I was convinced it was bad fuel. Mine was new plugs first then leads and hole in the intake after the MAF.
