    Speedo Problem

Driving to school today just after new clutch was put in yesterday. Driving along i only just noticed that the speedo is just sitting at 0 and there is no reading on the MAF under KPH(or in my case MPH). All other gauges are working i.e. temp, revs etc.

Has anyone ever experienced this or does anyone know what this problem could possibly be?

    Thanks all in adavance!

    Does the needle shake...

Sounds like the cluster has packed it in, not an altogether uncommon failure on the VR6.

A brand newy is damn expensive, but on the upside, you will be starting with 0KM

A second hand should be fine (mine is) and may come with lower km's to boot.

Depending on which model you have you can swap out individual parts if you want to try and repair it, but it's usually easier to get a new one.

Sounds like the VSS cable has not been reconnected by the person who disconnected it to change your clutch.

Go back to them and get them to fix it

Vehicle Speed Sensor. Modern equivalent of Speedo Cable.

They would need to disconnect it to remove the transmission when doing the clutch.

check the sensor on the gearbox. The plug may be loose or the switch may not be in correctly.

Yeah they either didnt plug the sensor back in, or they broke it when doing the clutch.

If you had no speedo and no revs it would like Aaron said need a new cluster.
