    Spark plug pullers

    Hi all,
I've just got a '95 VR6 and i'm after the various tools to service it. The spark plug leads are pretty hard to get at and i've heard of a VW specific tool for removing the plug leads. Where could i get this tool (in tasmania), how much, what does everyone else use to get their plug leads off? Any advice would be apreciated.
    Thanks Tazzy

the genuine plastic ones you get are crap. they break too easily and cost about $35 to replace
Make your own out of a piece of pipe. I found an old mountain bike handlebar in my dads shed.
an hour or so with a dremel and an angle grinder and this is what i emerged with!

Nice one Tim Matt was talking about it during one of my visits and it's quite an ingenuine thing, though I heard they're a favourite among service mechanics.

You should have that stashed somewhere on your car; I believe it came on all vehicles? Someone can comfirm this for me. Try the bag where the jack and the other tools are kept.

on VR6 golfs is came clipped to the bonnet support. U can see the plastic one in the background of my pic. That was the one i had my local dealer order in for me cos the one that come with my car was broken already. It lasted one spark plug change and then broke again. If you cant be arsed making one there are suppliers in the US that sell metal ones but theyre pretty pricey. around $30US i think? plus shipping on top of that. You should all just upgrade to Schrick manifolds. Then you have no need for the puller anyways

I wouldn't mind one of these tools since I don't think I even have the plastic one.

I can't seem to see any on eBay, although it may bery well be that I'm not searching for the right thing.

If anyone interested in getting one of the metal ones from the states (assuming we can find a supplier) at about US$30 I'm keen and maybe we can save a few $$ if we do a group buy, if nothing else we can save on postage

So anyone seen any of the metal ones available of late, either overseas or locally? and who is interested in getting one (or two)?
