According to RedBook, it's an option.

Yh, the current share car (06 Holden Astra, soon to be sold) is a 1.8 ecotech and has no guts at all. Rolling start of 20km/h in 2nd gear then foot to the floor, car takes like 8 seconds to get to 65km/h.
But yeah, I'd rather the wind down windows and I'm definitely going to source some vr6 seats or even some B6/B7 Audi seats and see if they fit.
Bumper shave/mould, respray (want to a deep pearl blue), front end swap, rims, coil overs etc are all on the intangible "to do list". Need to start work first and earn some cash!

Go the VR or a Vento. What's wrong with a little extra booty?

I hear the VR is too much hassle? Plus I want an easy going car, not a money pit and the booty won't fit in the driveway and "safe" parking is on the other side of the block (I live 2 houses from an intersection on a busy road)

I've had 2 GLs and a vr6, both are about the same in upkeep in my experience.
Each one has their own little knacks, but once it's sorted the car will last forever.
I've clocked 100xxx kms in my GL in the last 2 years. It's running better then ever.
My VR I've owned for about 6months. It's such a better drive for power and overall comfort IMO.
If you are deciding on VR mine will be up for sale soon due to mortgage repayments and moving into the city soon and having 2 cars is impractical.

Thanks for the info man but like VW Imposter said, keep the VR! If it's in good nick why not? And at the moment I'm undecided with travelling interstate (even though it's not a hassle) to inspect; don't want it to be disappointed if it isn't what I'm looking for and I travel all that way.
but again, thanks for the little tips, all is appreciated (:

Mate, I bought my VR6 about 6 months ago and it has 280 000kms on it, hasn't missed a beat, like any car, its about looking after it. Only thing gone is one window on the passenger side, since Im the driver, hasn't bothered me
