And Done, new oil, new filter. NICE

The old oil filter was a Mahle, which didn't come out too bad, although it could only be 3 months old. The oil was nice and black.

The oil filter housing drain screw wouldn't come out, but oh well, just ment I got a little more oil on my hands.

For those that are interested this is the oil I used:

I now have to wait till either SuperCheap get more in or find another store that sells it so I have some spare for when it starts to run low.

Interesting... Went down to SuperCheap to get some more oil today so I could top her up. Seems the "Bathurst 1000 Special" price I paid of ~$40 was rubbish since I paid $39.95 today. Sadly I can't find the receipt to confirm... maybe it was $38.95 on that weekend. Bah.

Oh well, at $40/5L it's not all that expensive really for what is supposed to be a very good oil.

Lol, I agree but I get a 20% discount there so they're not entirely useless

Different companies get different buy prices. thats why if you come into the autobarn i work in we might charge (and most of the time do) differently than the repco and supercheap down the road.

it all comes down to supplier agreements and how much you buy from them!

Actually its because of my NRMA Free2go service. It provides people between the ages of 17-18 with free NRMA service for a year in the hope to get them onto the service for the rest of their driving lives. Its just like a normal service but doesn't apply to the car your driving rather you, so evn if you buddies break down you can get assistance. And you get the usual NRMA services, I mean its free and you get discounts like that 20% supercheap one. There are a few yonger mk3er's on this forum that I think could benefit from this. And I spent some time reading the clause and other information and I'm prety sure there isn't a catch. So yeah If your between 17-18 have a look at it... It seems like a pretty good idea.

Oh and I don't work for NRMA or have insurance with them lol...
