Rola roof racks on MK3 ??????

From what is can tell via google & the search function, Thule 404's are the popular choice of roof rack for the MK3.........but are no longer available new, correct ?

Does anyone have or know of anyone who has Rola roof racks fitted to a MK3?

Pictures of how they mount or are secured to the roof would be awesome if you could help out. As well as possible model numbers for the racks/parts.

Currently have Rola's set up on our Pulsar (with bike mounts etc) & would like to transfer them onto the Golf if possible. Just need to shorten them & add the correct mounts.......that's the dream anyway.

    Thanks for you help.

    Cheers

    Hi mate,

how did you go with roof racks?

Your experience would be valuable for me. Need them as I can't keep my skiis in the cabin any more, as I'll be going with my wife and daughter to the mountain...

    Cheers,

    Alex

    Alex,

Have not proceeded any further with this due to budget restraints.

But I think the only way to put Rola's on is by drilling hole in the roof & riveting the mounts to the roof, which is something that I'm not willing to do.

I did find that Prorack / Whispbar / Yakima (all the same product I think), should have something to suit our MK3's. This is the way I'll be going once the finances recover.

    Hope that helps mate.

    Cheers

    Hi Brendan,

    thanks for that anyway.
If I find something smart in the meanwhile, I'll let you know.

    Cheers!
