It looks good as it isColour-coded wheels are starting to become "in" again (check out last year's Essen show) but I reckon it only looks good when you've got a polished lip.
Anyway, I'm spraying mine now. Hopefully it'll turn out OK.

My friend Brian had White Walls put on his old beetle, which cost him $70 last year.
Of course I could have some red pinstriping on the lip of the rim....

Maris, one more question for you - did you take it to a wheel repairer for the sand blasting and powder-coating duties? Or somewhere else? Just that I've been quoted higher sums from dedicated wheel repairers.
Sand Blasting done @ Dry Creek and the Powdercoating at Holden Hill by dedicated Powdercoaters.

Thanks Maris. I was quoted $250 for powdercoating a set of wheel centres - pretty much equivalent to the size of the wheel face of your wheels. Time to hit the yellow pages!
I thought the price was real cheap. I wouldn't bother painting them myself for that price. The sand blaster also removed the rust from the centre of the rim, the portion covered by the tyre.
You'll probably pay more in Sydney.
